Chicago Gourmet Dine-Around

13 Aug

Last year I sat in a few brainstorming meetings for the Chicago Gourmet Dine-Around initiative and I loved the program. Essentially, if you eat at five participating restaurants within a certain window of time, you get a free ticket to Chicago Gourmet. It’s a great incentive to help drive restaurant business and make the expensive ticket price more of an option for many.

Here are details about this year’s dine-around:

THE MONTH-LONG BON APPÉTIT AND CHICAGO GOURMET DINE AROUND KICKS OFF AUGUST 30, 2010

Earn a Complimentary One-Day Ticket to Chicago Gourmet 2010 by Dining Out

There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but lovers of food and wine can get a complimentary ticket to Bon Appétit Presents Chicago Gourmet 2010. The Bon Appétit and Chicago Gourmet Dine Around is the only way to earn a complimentary one-day ticket just by dining out at top restaurants.

Here’s how it works: From August 30 to September 26, dine at five of the 50+ participating Dine Around restaurants listed below and save five receipts in the official Dine Around receipt holder. Receipt holders are available at all participating Dine Around restaurants. Guests may redeem their receipts at the registration table at Chicago Gourmet 2010 for a free one-day general admission ticket for either Saturday, September 25 or Sunday, September 26. The general admission ticket is valued at $150, and provides access to all cooking demos, tasting pavilions, seminars and book signings. Only one person will be admitted per ticket. The ticket does not include admission to the Grand Cru Tastings, which requires an additional ticket, priced at $175 per person.
During the month-long Dine Around, some participating restaurants will be offering a special prix-fixe option with beverage pairings by presenting sponsor Southern Wine & Spirits and Blue Moon, priced at either $33 or $55. Other restaurants will offer their regular menus. Diners can opt to order the special prix-fixe, if one is offered, or they can enjoy a meal from the regular menu; either receipt is valid toward the complimentary ticket.
